Especially timely given the current public outcry over Bill C-51, the government’s proposed anti-terrorism bill, THE SECRET TRIAL 5 reveals a shocking side to Canadian security: that government agencies already have the power to detain immigrants, in secret, indefinitely. This expose tells the story of five men being held under Canadian Security Certificates; immigration tools that allow the government to detain (or deport) non-citizens living in Canada, without charges, and without the right to see the evidence presented against them.
